Mumbai: None of the six sitting Members of Parliament (MPs) from Mumbai have managed to use up their entire quota of Rs20 crore to develop their constituencies.
The MPs who have spent the most are Milind Deora (South Mumbai), the minister of state for information technology and telecommunications, and Eknath Gaikwad (South Central Mumbai), who used up Rs13.3 crore each.
The lowest amount of Rs9.12 crore was spent by Mumbai North West MP and Congress general secretary Gurudas Kamat, followed by Mumbai North’s Sanjay Nirupam (Rs11.6 crore).
A nonprofit organisation, Maharashtra Election Watch, released the report card of all six sitting MPs from Mumbai on Wednesday, rating their performance on criteria such as their attendance in Parliament, number of question asked, and how many promises they had managed to fulfill. The report cards are available on MumbaiVotes.com.
