The International Atomic Energy Agency will in November conduct a safety survey at the Rawatbhata atomic power plant in Rajasthan, a foreign ministry spokesman said.
This will be the first such survey by the United Nations nuclear watchdog in India and comes at a time when there are increasing concerns over the safety of nuclear power plants in the country.
A Russian-built atomic plant in Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu has not being able to start operations due to local protests.
