The all-you-can-read subscription service will be available for `199 per month
Bengaluru: Amazon on Wednesday launched Kindle Unlimited, an all-you-can-read subscription service for India, for a monthly fee of ₹ 199.
Amazon said that it had over one million titles that will be available for its users who opt for this service. The first month will be available for ₹ 99, the company said in a statement. Subscribers will be able to get for free any book that has the Kindle Unlimited logo next to its title. To be sure, the book selection for Indian subscribers is still limited and may not include many popular books.
“For less than the average price of one hardcover bestseller, we’ve made the best digital library in the world available to every corner of India," said Sanjeev Jha, director, Kindle Content. Customers can sign up for half yearly or yearly subscriptions as well for ₹ 999 and ₹ 1,799, respectively.
The service will also be available on iOS and Android platforms. The service is currently operational in markets such as the US, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico and Canada.
