BackSpiceJet to add more flights to its network in winter season
The airline will expand its fleet by six aircraft over the next few weeks and will will operate 291 flights daily this winter, using 41 aircraft

New Delhi: SpiceJet Ltd will expand its fleet by six aircraft over the next few weeks, adding more flights to its network in the winter season.
The Gurgaon-based airline will operate 291 flights daily this winter, using 41 aircraft. In summer it operated 250 daily flights, using 35 aircraft.
“With this enhancement we have grown our capacity by 16%," Shilpa Bhatia, senior vice-president and head of sales and distribution at SpiceJet, said in a statement.
The newly added routes include Ahmedabad-Goa, Mumbai-Varanasi, Varanasi-Hyderabad, Kozhikode-Dubai and Amritsar-Dubai.
Some of the existing sectors will also see an increase in frequency.
Airlines typically revise their schedule at the start of the winter and summer seasons after taking approval from regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
SpiceJet is the fourth largest airline in terms of domestic market share, carrying 11% of passengers.
Its shares were down 0.68% to ₹ 29.30 on the BSE on Friday. The benchmark Sensex was up 0.87% at 27,079.51 points.
